TCF 2.2 Custom text update process

If you're using a custom text for your TCF Banner, you might need to insert the VendorCount placeholder manually. This is because we cannot discern your sentence structure in an automated way.

Unless we reach out to you directly, you'll notice this requirement during the migration process from TCF 2.0 to TCF 2.2.

If you encounter the error message, you won't be able to directly switch to TCF 2.2. However, you have two alternatives:

  1. Opt to use our standard TCF text, which already incorporates the vendor count, by checking the provided checkbox.

  2. If you wish to modify your custom text, simply click on “click here” within the error message.

Changing the custom texts

If you click on “click here” to update your custom texts, an additional form will appear, displaying instructions and your custom texts in various languages.

Insert the placeholder %VENDOR_COUNT% at the appropriate location in your text. Please make minimal changes to avoid an extended legal review of your content.

Once you've made your edits and click "Confirm", a .txt file will download automatically. You will then be directed to a screen where you can create a support ticket. Your Setting-ID will be pre-filled. Simply paste the contents of the .txt file into the "TCF 2.2 New text" field within the support ticket. You can also add any further comments in the "Comment" field if needed.

After submitting the ticket, you'll receive a confirmation email at the address you provided. We'll also notify you via email once your text is approved.

Once approved, the updated text will be available in your draft settingID. Before publishing, ensure you switch the TCF version to 2.2.
