Which "ID" means what?

This article explains what the different IDs mean.

This article explains what the different IDs mean.

This ID identifies a specific consent decision of the user for a processing service - i.e. a kind of consent document. If the user rejects Google Analytics, for example, a unique Consent ID is assigned to this decision. The Consent ID is the result of the Controller ID, Processor ID and Settings ID.

Controller ID

This is a unique but random ID that we assign to a user's device when they first visit and store in the device itself. We need this ID to assign consent data to a user/device.

Processor ID

This is an ID that we associate with a data processing service (e.g. Google Analytics) for which a user can give consent or opt-out.

Settings ID

Our product is configured by our customers themselves via the so-called settings (display, texts, etc.). Via this settings ID, our tool knows which configuration is to be used for which website.
