Why doesn't the CMP delete cookies once they have been set?

The Usercentrics Consent Management Platform doesn’t manage cookies. We set in one step earlier and block technologies until the user gives consent. Once the user decides to give consent, the respective technology can then perform functions such as set cookies, fire tracking pixels and use other tracking methods.

If a user changes his or her mind during the course of the session and objects to a technology, we once again take a step before the cookie. The cookie function will remain untouched by us – we neither set nor delete it. However, what we do is block the script of the technology. As a result, it is no longer executed at all. The cookie will automatically expire at the end of its lifespan.
