Will GoogleBot recognize the Usercentrics Banner or is it excluded by the Usercentrics CMP?
Yes, GoogleBot will recognize the Usercentrics Banner.
This would be the standard approach for any CMP. Enterprise clients can use our Bot Detection to hide the CMP from the Google Bot. Please contact your personal Customer Success Manager if you would like to use that feature.
Since it's not clear if adjustment changes regarding Googlebot is 100% compliant, it has to be a decision on customer side.
On the other side, Googlebot will see the site with the banner which might decrease your Web Vitals Scores (such as CLS), because the visual component is there.
So it is rather a business decision, the only thing we can say is that until now, most of our customers chose to do nothing.
The "Bot Detection" feature is included in our Enterprise package. After a request to the respective Customer Success Manager, we activate it. In this case, the CMP simulates an "accept all" for the Google Bot and hides the CMP. It is at the discretion of the customer to weigh up - Google may judge a hiding of the CMP for the bot negatively under certain circumstances.
